If you haven't been able to tell by now, cake classes are my new jam. I get to do what I love with my favorite people and help others create a little cake magic of their own too. What's not to love?! At our last class, we made the ever popular naked drip cake and the results were to die for!
All of our classes are held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fredericksburg and each student is given all of the supplies that they'll need to create their cake - including the cake, buttercream and toppings!
Once everyone was settled, we got to work! Students learned how to level their cake layers...
Fill and stack the cakes and added a crumb coat to lock in moisture.
Carefully add the chocolate and/or caramel drip.
Last but not least, add the fruit and flowers! Since it was a winter themed cake, each attendee was given some figs, blackberries and cranberries as well as access to greenery and blooms provided by Whimsy Event Planning and Design (thanks Diane!).
By far, the best part of the class was seeing everyone's faces light up as their cakes came together! All of the cakes had their own personality but were absolutely beautiful.
And special shoutout to my momma, my teaching assistant and right hand.
